If you’re a follower on my instagram you’ve surely been tired of seeing my random posts of art, especially if you’re actually here for the tea. If you feel that way, the good news is that the creative bug is almost out of my system. I just found 2 images that I started years ago (when I operated Linvers Atelier) which are still relevant and usable today, so I should probably wrap those up.
I recently had a tea gathering over gyokuro, we drank 8 different ones in one sitting, with some other white teas, greens, puerh’s, etc. I think we all pretty much came to similar conclusions as to which ones were best and I got to thinking. I should probably do more with the maps I drew, I should probably cross-reference my wine skills a little more, I should probably do the tedious work that no one else wants to do. I spoke with a peer in this industry a few years ago about this, and this work will go against his wishes, though I really do think its important — I’ll make a classification system for ‘gyokuro land’ in Japan based on data, that will hopefully help the world understand the concept of terroir and preference better. Honestly doesn’t sound like too big of a deal as there are really only 2 areas to consider, and neither are very big. Who knows, maybe I’m underestimating the scale of this, or overestimating my ability. That will be my grand work of 2025..?
Regarding my upcoming tea shop, things are moving… I finally have my building permit. I am having my appliances delivered soon, but there is still construction and all sorts of other bullshit. So I’ll keep that on the down-low for now as to not disappoint you all.
