Brocade is remarkably beautiful.

There are many traditional art forms originating in Chinese culture, and somehow textile art is the one least mentioned in today’s world. The sentiment expressed on this cloth is meant to evoke the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin) with her heavenly floral robe. It is extravagant and woven in a quality fit for a palace.

The golden threads that outline the patterns reflect sunlight and dazzle when viewed while moving. The pictures turned out well, and I took a video to help give the sense of movement, but this is really something you have to see with your own eyes.

The material is linen and it measures 32cm x 260cm.
